Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if I close my account mid-month?
The billing process when closing your account depends on your specific agreement with us and what you are closing.
Accounts with Agreement Terms: If you have an agreement with us that includes minimum license commitments for a specified term, you will be required to pay for those licenses for the entire duration of the agreement, even if you close your account before the end of the term.
Subaccounts within the Platform: If you close a subaccount within our platform, the licenses and storage associated with that subaccount will be prorated on your bill based on the date the subaccount was closed within the billing month.
For example, if you have a subaccount with 10 Machine Monitoring licenses and close it on the 15th of a 30-day month, you will be charged for 5 licenses (50% of the monthly license count) for that subaccount.
How does the minimum storage duration policy affect my billing?
Sahelay has a minimum storage duration policy of 30 days, which means that when you delete data from your storage space, you will continue to be billed for that data for the remainder of the 30-day period.
Here's an example to illustrate how this policy works: Let's say you have 100 GB of data stored on the 1st of the month, and you decide to delete 50 GB on the 7th day of your billing cycle. Even though the data is removed from your storage space, you will still be charged for the full 100 GB until the end of the 30-day minimum storage duration.
We understand that this policy may not be ideal for everyone, and we want to provide you with options that best suit your needs. If you prefer a different billing model offered by another vendor compatible with Veeam, we recommend considering importing that vendor's storage to our platform.
By importing your own storage, you can take advantage of the pricing and features that work best for your specific use case.
What's your API call policy for Sahelay S3?
There are no charges for API calls.
What's your egress policy for Sahelay S3?
We offer free egress for Sahelay S3, subject to a fair usage policy. Here's how it works:
If your monthly egress is less than or equal to your total storage consumption, we consider this reasonable usage and you won't be charged for egress.
However, if your monthly egress exceeds your total storage consumption, we consider this excessive usage and it falls outside of our fair usage policy.
In cases where your usage is deemed excessive, please be aware that we reserve the right to take action to maintain the quality of our service, such as suspending or limiting your account.
Our goal is to provide a balanced approach that allows you to use egress freely for typical usage patterns while discouraging abuse of the system. If you have any questions about our egress policy or need guidance on your specific use case, feel free to reach out to our support team.
Can I purchase Veeam licensing from Sahelay?
We bundle Veeam licensing into Machine Monitoring. You will need to ensure that all licensed instances are being monitored within Sahelay Central.
What if I want to use my own cloud storage provider? Will you charge me for that?
No extra cloud storage charges from us!
We believe in giving you the flexibility to use your preferred storage provider without any extra fees from our end. This way, you have full control over your storage costs and can take advantage of the pricing and features that work best for your needs
Keep in mind that you will still require Machine Monitoring licenses.
How many Machine Monitoring licenses do I need?
The number of Machine Monitoring licenses required is based on the total number of machines that meet either of the following criteria:
- A machine that is backed up by the monitored Veeam Backup & Replication environment.
- A machine visible on any imported cloud storage.
All machine meeting either of the above criteria will be automatically monitored as part of the service. The same machine will not be included more than once.
